Last Plop
Plop o’ the morning to you! Don’t worry— this won’t be my last plop shot. It’s actually really only my second, and they’re a lot of fun. But it appears to be common practice for Last Word rifts to include “last”, and who am I to break convention? It’s really my First Last Word riff, but First Last Plop is just a confusing name.
In all seriousness, I was inspired to Do The Plop from all the Ploppin’ going on with the #ripplemethis challenge posed by @highproofpreacher. It was new to my photography skills (thanks to @denverbarkeep for your help!), but I’m always looking to expand my shot options!
The drink swaps out maraschino liqueur for Suze, goes heavy on the gin, and adds some celery bitters. The result is a bit more vegetal nearly leaning toward savory, a hint more bitter with enough balancing sweetness, and overall really lovely. I love the terroir gin and the heavy pine notes really help anchor the rest of it. The celery bitters are potent and just a couple drops works just right.
Recipe
1.25oz @stgeorgespirits terroir gin
0.5oz Green Chartreuse (@chartreuse1605)
0.5oz Suze (@suzeofficial)
0.5oz lime juice
2 drops celery bitters (@scrappysbitters, gifted)
Shake, strain, plop. No garnish. Cheers!!
